Ian Gerson

Ian Gerson is a queer and trans interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Houston, Texas, working in sculpture, installation, and community engagement. Their work examines climate injustice, trans consciousness, and queer longing. In 2023 they were a Rising Resident at A Studio in the Woods, where they wove wearable sculptures from river-found ropes and staged a queer and trans-led fashion show on the Mississippi River. Gerson has exhibited at venues including the Bronx Museum, Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans, and BOX13 ArtSpace, and is a 3-D Studio Technician at Rice University.
