John Macker

John Macker is a poet, playwright and essayist based in Northern New Mexico, where he has lived for 28 years. He has contributed poems to Bristlecone, including work in its 2025 issue. His books include several poetry collections, a memoir called El Rialto, and a collection of essays and short fiction, Desert Threnody. His play trilogy Black Range Trilogy was staged by Teatro Paraguas in Santa Fe.
