Jose-Luis Moctezuma

Jose-Luis Moctezuma is a Xicano poet based in Chicago who writes poetry and criticism. His first full-length poetry book, Place-Discipline, was published by Omnidawn in 2018 and won the 2017 Omnidawn 1st/2nd Poetry Book Prize, selected by Myung Mi Kim. He followed it with Black Box Syndrome from Omnidawn in 2023. He teaches as an Assistant Professor of Writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
