Kai Chen

Kai Chen (born 1990 in Wuhan) is a painter based in Shanghai who makes large-scale pointillist oil paintings built from layered dots. Their recent Cosmic Series explores color, light, and abstraction. They completed a 2026 residency at Viafarini in Milan, which took place January to April 2026 and was shown in the April 2026 open studio.
