Karkki Mäkelä
Karkki Mäkelä is a Tampere-based visual artist who makes cyborg sculptures. The works join household appliances, electronics and garden tools with clay body parts. During a January 2026 residency at Serlachius in Mänttä, she worked on small serial sculptures and studied consumer aesthetics, identity and social pressure.
