Karolina Majewska Freeing

Karolina Majewska Freeing is a Warsaw-based visual artist whose sculptures and installations, often made with wax, wood, and clay, examine the fragility of the human body and the politics surrounding it. She holds an MFA in Painting from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (2014) and an MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York (2017). During a March 2024 residency at Surel's Place in Boise, Idaho, she made self-portraits through casting for her exhibition 'womanhood'.
