Katya Kan

Katya Kan was an artist born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with Russian and Korean heritage, who grew up in the US and the UK. Her work explored identity, belonging, nostalgia and emptiness, often with darkly humorous or provocative imagery. She was once in residence at the NG Art Creative Residency in Provence. FAD Magazine's 2024 profile reports that she died in 2023 at age 35. Gallerist Byron Konzi and residency founder Nicky Ginsberg both paid tribute to her as a talented, challenging artist and performer.
