Laura Moriarty

Laura Moriarty is an artist based in New York's Hudson River Valley who makes process-driven sculptures, paintings, and works on paper in pigmented beeswax. Her forms and stratified surfaces echo geological processes such as erosion, compression, and heating and cooling. She was selected for the Rabbit Island residency in Lake Superior in 2021, where she spent the summer working on conservation-related research. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including a 2021 solo show at Hunterdon Art Museum and a 2026 two-person show at Kenise Barnes Fine Art. She has received Pollock-Krasner and Gottlieb Foundation grants and a MARK Award. She is also the author of the limited-edition artist's book Table of Contents (2012).
