Laura Soisalon-Soininen

Laura Soisalon-Soininen is a Finnish visual artist who works mainly with natural materials, combining weaving, crocheting and sewing techniques. Her practice often involves long walking performances that explore space and her relationship to place. She has been interested in soil, agriculture and the Northern Finnish landscape, especially its rivers and waterway construction, and her family has roots in Lapland. In 2023 she was an Artist-in-Environment resident at KulttuuriKauppila in Ii.
