Lorna Simpson

Lorna Simpson is an artist known since the mid-1980s for large-scale photograph-and-text works that examine gender, identity, culture, history, and memory. Her practice later expanded to multi-panel felt photographs, film, and video. Her recent work uses hazy ink washes and isolated figures. Exposition Review featured four of her visual works in its Vol. VII: "Flux" issue.
