Lu Heintz

Lu Heintz is an independent metal sculptor and artist who worked with The Steel Yard, the Providence, Rhode Island industrial arts center. The Steel Yard lists Heintz as its founding blacksmithing fellow, in its 2014-and-prior group of residents. In 2007 Heintz was commissioned through The Steel Yard to make laser-cut steel trash cans for Olneyville, with text offering a critical 'people's history' of the neighborhood. The Olneyville Housing Corporation rejected the design, and the cans were later placed elsewhere.
