Lucia Love

Lucia Love is a painter whose work blends myth, legend, art history, and politics into allegorical compositions featuring angels, devils, and historical figures. Known for the Doomerang and Spancil series, their paintings mix hyperrealism, loose brushwork, and cartoon line. They were a Pioneer Works visual arts resident and a Shandaken Paint School fellow. Love also writes about contemporary art and artists in historical context, according to an Essex Flowers event listing. Their work has been covered by The New York Times, Art21 Magazine, ArtNet, and Hyperallergic.
