M Cynthia Cheung

M. Cynthia Cheung is a physician and poet. Her debut poetry collection, Common Disaster, was published by Acre Books and draws on her front-line work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The collection also touches on war, family loss, and deep-time natural history. Her poems have appeared in The Shore, among other journals, and her 2024 Kenyon Review workshop friendship with poet Angela Siew is discussed in a Substack interview.
