Maja Miłkowska-Shibata

Maja Miłkowska-Shibata was born and raised in Poland and works as a public health professional and medical interpreter. She uses writing and art to share stories and perspectives. She has been drawn to graphic medicine, which uses comics to discuss health topics. Her comics have appeared in the Sequential Artists Workshop anthologies and in several journals, including Intima and Tendon. In September 2025 she was an artist-in-residence at Surel's Place in Idaho, where she led a zine-making workshop.
