María Elena Pombo

María Elena Pombo is a Venezuelan-born artist and researcher based in New York City. Her work uses installation, sculpture, video, and participatory actions, often made from materials such as avocado seeds, petroleum, algae, and starches. She was a resident in Smack Mellon's 2025–2026 Artist Studio Program in Brooklyn. Her work is held by the Art Institute of Chicago.
