Maria Spiess

Maria Spiess is a ceramic artist who works mainly with coils and hand-building methods. She teaches ceramics in the Westchester, New York area. Her residencies include LUX Center for the Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she exhibited in 2019 and 2020. She grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio, and studied ceramics at Bowling Green State University and Syracuse University. Her other residencies include Woodstock Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, Taos Clay Studio, Golden Bridge Pottery in India, and Chautauqua Institution.
