Mariam Stephan

Mariam Stephan is an American painter and draftsperson from the USA. She was an artist in residence at DRAWinternational in Caylus, France, in late 2018. Her work centres on constructed landscapes of conflict, abandonment and disarray, often using boat shapes and water. Her residency statement says she planned a series of ink drawings modelled on Goya's Disasters of War and larger oil-on-paper landscapes.
