Marius Mertens

Marius Mertens is a musician who works as one half of the electronic and noise duo Dawn Device, alongside Heinrich Lenz. The duo is based in Cologne and Vienna. Their sound mixes ambient textures, drone and noise. In early 2025 Mertens and Lenz were artists in residence at Last Ship in Khajuraho, India. There they gathered field recordings and turned them into compositions using AI tools.
