Mary Collins

Mary Collins is a creative nonfiction writer who moved to the United States from England. She previously wrote research-based articles for medical and nursing journals before turning to personal writing about eight years before the Under the Gum Tree interview. She lives on Cape Cod with her husband and son. Her award-winning work includes Solstice Literary Magazine's 2014 Award for Creative Nonfiction, and she has received scholarships to the Norman Mailer Writers Colony. Her essay appeared in Under the Gum Tree Issue 13 (October 2014). She is working on a book-length memoir.
