Maryna Sokolenko

Maryna Sokolenko is a Ukrainian artist who makes doll-based dioramas and installations, often using Barbie-style dolls in folk costume to restage people, events and landscapes. She also works in video and performance. Her work addresses war, environmental change and historical events, including the idea of solastalgia. In June 2023 she was an artist-in-environment resident at KulttuuriKauppila in Ii, Finland, where she worked on installations with her daughter Eva.
