Merja Pennanen

Merja Pennanen is a Finnish performer, director, community artist and drama educator who has worked in the independent art field and regional theatres since 2002. She has held community art posts at Joensuu Theatre and a regional arts role, and was a regional curator at Rovaniemi regional theatre. In November 2020 she was an artist-in-residence at KulttuuriKauppila in Ii, working with sound artist Jaap Klevering on a project for the Valonjuhla light festival.
