Michael Hepher

Michael Hepher is a full-time artist, printmaker and writer based in Fernie, British Columbia. He writes a recurring column for Articulate Magazine about rural practice and artist residencies. His work is mostly landscape-based. He was a resident at the Sointula Art Shed on Malcolm Island, where he produced the painting 'Beautiful Day in Rough Bay' and sold it to a local family before it was finished. A Sointula Art Shed post from July 2025 reposted his update about returning to the residency.
