Michel Droge

Michel Droge is a multimedia artist and painter-printmaker whose work draws on deep-sea field study, ancient Greek mythology, philosophy, and collaborative science. Their paintings, drawings, prints, and installations often treat the deep sea as a mysterious and interconnected space. Droge is listed as a 2026–2027 Fulbright Scholar and has received a Joan Mitchell award, Kindling Fund co-recipient status, and several Maine Arts Commission grants. Their bio also lists fellowships at Surf Point Foundation and other residencies and foundations. Their exhibitions include a 2023 deep-sea residency aboard a research vessel and a solo show at the University of Maine at Augusta, along with group shows in Maine and elsewhere.
