Michelle Foa

Michelle Foa is an associate professor of European art in the Newcomb Art Department at Tulane University, focusing on nineteenth-century French art and material culture. She was a scholarly resident at A Studio in the Woods in the 2022-23 season. Her current book project concerns Edgar Degas. She has received the Nineteenth-Century Studies Association article prize and a Metropolitan Museum of Art fellowship.
