Mónica McCumber Avilés

Mónica McCumber Avilés is a photographer and collage artist based in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. In 2024 she took part in a Kolaj Institute virtual artist residency and in the Camera Collage exhibition in New Orleans, held as part of PhotoNOLA 2024. Her method is to print photographs on transparent tracing paper and layer them into collages that explore memory and the unconscious.
