Nicolas Stephan

Nicolas Stephan is a Berlin-based designer and co-founder, with Marine Lemarié, of Distant Realities, an experimental design studio and architectural practice. The studio works on research-based scenarios that connect ecology, politics, economy and technology. He was a 2023 resident at Rabbit Island in Michigan, where the studio was listed as a resident alongside him. Stephan's listed work includes exhibitions such as New Now Festival (Essen, 2023) and Hello Void! (Innsbruck, 2022), as well as teaching at the University of Innsbruck and the Universität der Künste Berlin. He is also named as a researcher on the Tree Lifecycle and Woodwork project.
