OMAR SOTO
Omar Soto is a Phoenix-based artist known mainly as a photographer, whose work also includes collage, sculpture, installation, and performance. He works with props and found objects to reinterpret Renaissance and classical painting. Soto's work centers QTBIPOC communities and his own experience as an undocumented non-binary person, often using surreal and escapist imagery in response to political struggles in Arizona. Pages describe Soto with they/them pronouns. In 2025 Soto was CALA Alliance's summer resident artist, leading an open studio and a photography and collage workshop. In 2026 he was honored at a joint reception with Samantha Vo ahead of a San Francisco show.
