Pia Louwerens

Pia Louwerens is a Dutch artist-researcher and writer living in Brussels who works with performance and writing. Her practice examines how artworks, artists and institutions shape one another. In 2023 she was a resident at Kunsthuis SYB in Beeststerzwaag, where she researched the former Lesbisch Archief Leeuwarden with Katinka van Gorkum. Her 2021 book 'I'm Not Sad, The World Is Sad' is an autotheoretical, semi-fictional novel about working as an embedded researcher at an art institution.
