Pihla Väisänen

Pihla Väisänen is a visual artist and musician born in 2001 in Kuopio, Finland, where she is based. She trained in visual arts at Novia University of Applied Sciences in Jakobstad and spent an exchange semester at the Art Academy of Latvia. Her multidisciplinary work uses video, embroidery and sound to explore cultural heritage, Finnish folklore, feminism and cultural memory. She took part in the Art Alumni residency at Malakta in September 2025.
