Pilar Mata Dupont

Pilar Mata Dupont is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Rotterdam who graduated from the Dutch Art Institute in 2016. Her video, performance, and photography work uses looping, fragmentation, and dislocation to examine how histories and memories are told, often through genre narratives. In 2024 she was a research resident at Kunsthuis SYB in Friesland, where she worked with Erika Roux on the Western-inspired project The Polder Western, which looks at rising sea levels and water management in the Netherlands.
