Sakinah A. Davis

Sakinah A. Davis, DMA, is a soprano and Assistant Professor of Voice at Xavier University of Louisiana, where she also directs the opera workshop. Her research covers Spanish-language vocal repertoire and links between opera and the African Diaspora. In 2025 she was a resident at A Studio in the Woods, studying the role of South Carolinian Black and Gullah communities in Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.
