Shan Wu

Shan Wu is an interdisciplinary artist born and raised in Taiwan who now lives in the US. Working mainly in sculpture, video, and installation, Shan examines censorship, political rigidity, and cultural symbols. Shan is an advocate for Taiwan's sovereignty. Shan earned an MFA in Film and Video from CalArts in 2019. Shan has held residencies at The Residency Project in 2020 and 2021, and the Santa Fe Art Institute's 2024 Sovereignty residency.
