Shawn Skabelund

Shawn Skabelund is a site-specific, place-based installation artist who grew up in McCall, Idaho. His work examines the human marks left on land and communities, drawing on Wendell Berry's phrase 'the unsettling of America.' He works from research into each site's history and has shown across the United States for more than twenty years. He was a resident at Wrangell Mountains Center in 2016 and is listed as a 2025 resident at the Montello Foundation.
