Sheila Sondik

Sheila Sondik is a poet whose collection Lighting Up the Duff was published by The Poetry Box in 2024. The book uses the Golden Shovel form and draws on Pacific Northwest forests and gardens. The poems quote poets she read in her twenties and revisit them from her seventies. Her publisher's description says she revisits her own childhood and her daughters' childhoods as she walks. The collection is presented as an homage to the poets who shaped her early writing.
