Sonora Rain Orchard

Sonora Rain Orchard, who also goes by Rain, is a ceramic artist and environmentalist whose work draws on the desert. Their practice mixes figurative sculpture, desert-derived textures, and images of the natural world. In 2026 they were the first Emerging Artist in Residence at Grand Canyon Conservancy, a partnership with Northern Arizona University. During the residency they made clay work about the canyon's geology and water.
