Tahir Carl Karmali

Tahir Carl Karmali is a Brooklyn-based artist who works across sculpture, installation, printmaking, textiles, photography and sound. His work deals with materials, migration and colonial histories, drawing on his experience as a Kenyan who has travelled widely. He was a Visual Arts Resident at Pioneer Works in 2017, where he developed the PAPERwork series around papermaking, borders and bureaucracy.
