Tzu Ning Chiang

Tzu Ning Chiang, also known as Viola Chiang, is a multidisciplinary artist born in Taipei and based in Venice. She trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and works across printmaking, artist books and publications. Her residency at Atelier Austmarka in Norway was one of several she has completed, and she ran four stays there between 2014 and 2016. Her practice centres on the book as an object and on the links between time, human activity and the environment. Her exhibition 'Book as an object' at the Linenhall in Belfast (November 2024 to January 2025) examined books as art objects and not only as text. Since 2022 she has run the self-publishing studio Violatipia in Venice.
