Walter Sandifer III

Walter Sandifer III is a New Orleans Masking Indian and Spy Boy of The Beautiful Creole Apache tribe, born into the city's masking tradition. He was a 2023 resident at A Studio in the Woods, where he finished a suit for Mardi Gras morning. He teaches sewing and drumming to middle school students and holds public sewing classes with his father, Big Chief Beautiful. His suits often address nature and the Mississippi River.
