Yoichi Kamimura

Yoichi Kamimura is a Japanese artist who works across sound installation, painting, video and field recording, which he calls "meditative hunting." He is based in Helsinki according to his own site. He took part in the SÍM Residency in Reykjavík in 2022, the residency Missa links him to. Pages from SÍM and the Facebook post confirm his participation, and he later curated or joined SÍM's IN TO exhibition in early 2023. He received the Sound of the Year Awards in London in 2023 and 2024, and the Special Jury Prize at Phonurgia Nova 2023 in Paris.
