About the press

Liquid Light Press is an independent publisher and curatorial platform founded in 2015 with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between contemporary poetry and visual art. Operating at the intersection of the page and the gallery, the press produces limited-edition artist books, broadsides, and exhibition catalogues that foreground materiality and collaboration. Its core mission is to support risk-taking work that resists easy categorization, often pairing emerging poets with visual artists to create objects that are as much artifacts as they are texts. Through its reading series and pop-up exhibitions, Liquid Light Press cultivates a community of makers invested in the physical and conceptual possibilities of the book form.

Publishing focus

The mission of Liquid Light Press is to promote the artistic sharing of the human journey to consciousness and inner experiences difficult to express in linear vocabulary. They publish poetry that landmarks spiritual evolution, is attentive to the moment, and reminds them of everyday miracles.

Liquid Light Press accepts submissions on a rolling basis, but reading periods are announced via its newsletter and website. Artists and writers should submit a cohesive proposal that demonstrates a clear vision for the book or project as a whole, including mockups or sample spreads if applicable. The press prioritizes work that engages with the materiality of the book and collaborative processes. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please notify promptly if your work is placed elsewhere. Response times vary; expect 3–6 months. There are no reading fees for standard submissions, though occasional themed calls may have a modest fee to support production costs.

Send us poetry for the heart. We are looking for poetry that is both transformational and demonstrates a mastery of craft. Please check our website for our guidelines and mission before submitting. You may also want to check out our books to really understand what we are all about. Please do not send us anything that does not fit our criteria as we are very focused with what we do. We do, however, publish a variety of styles of poetry as long as it fits our mission.
