3 listedManuscript submissions
Mayapple Press accepts submissions through periodic reading periods, typically announced on its website and social media. Writers should send a polished, complete manuscript of poetry (48–80 pages) or a novel/short story collection, accompanied by a brief cover letter and a bio. The press favors work that demonstrates a clear command of language, emotional depth, and a willingness to engage with complex themes. Simultaneous submissions are generally accepted with notification, but query first if unsure. Response times can be several months, so patience is advised. Do not send unsolicited full manuscripts outside open reading periods unless explicitly invited.
Please see our Submissions page for detailed instructions on how to submit your work to us.
