Milkweed Editions is an independent nonprofit publisher based in Minneapolis, founded in 1980. Its mission is to publish transformative literature that explores the relationship between human culture and the natural world, with a particular emphasis on poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The press has a longstanding commitment to fostering diverse voices and promoting environmental stewardship through its literary offerings.

Milkweed Editions accepts submissions through periodic open reading periods, typically announced on their website and social media. They welcome literary fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction that aligns with their mission.
