Paekakariki Press, Ltd. is an independent fine art press based in Paekakariki, New Zealand, dedicated to the production of limited-edition artist books and prints. Founded with a commitment to traditional letterpress and hand-binding techniques, the press operates at the intersection of contemporary artistic practice and historical craft, fostering collaborations between artists, writers, and master printers. Its core mission is to create objects of enduring material and intellectual value, where text and image are considered in equal measure and the book itself is treated as a work of art.

Artists and writers should approach the press with a clear, concise proposal that outlines the conceptual basis of the project and its suitability for the book form. Include visual documentation of previous work, a realistic production timeline, and an awareness of the press's commitment to traditional techniques. Unsolicited manuscripts are rarely considered; instead, the press favors collaborative projects where the artist is open to dialogue about materials, typography, and binding. Initial contact via email with a brief introduction and a link to an online portfolio is recommended.

Submissions for small collections (less than fifty-four pages) considered by e-mail. Note that it is unlikely that we will be able to publish poets submitting from outside the United Kingdom. The economics of supporting promotion of such work make it not really practical.
