About the press
The Santa Fe Writers Project (SFWP) is an independent literary organization founded in 1998 with the aim of supporting writers whose work falls outside mainstream publishing. From its base in Santa Fe, New Mexico, SFWP operates a not-for-profit press and an annual Literary Awards Program, offering publication and cash prizes to emerging and established authors. Its ethos is rooted in a commitment to literary quality and accessibility, often prioritizing voices that are innovative, risk-taking, or underrepresented in commercial publishing.
Publishing focus
SFWP is an independent press dedicated to the craft of writing, artistic preservation, recognizing exciting new authors, and bringing out of print work back to the shelves. They publish exciting fiction and creative nonfiction of every genre, maintain an online literary journal, and run an annual internationally recognized Awards Program. Globally distributed by IPG.
