Aviário Studio

Planning your application

Artists interested in Aviário Studio should approach the application as a proposal for a period of research and experimentation rather than a presentation of a finished project. The selection committee looks for clarity of intent, openness to process, and a genuine need for the residency's specific offerings: time, space, and a supportive community. Applications are typically accepted on a rolling basis or through specific open calls, such as the annual Photography Residency. It is advisable to visit the website for current opportunities and to tailor your proposal to the studio's ethos of exploration and dialogue. Include a well-considered project description that outlines your research interests and how the residency would benefit your practice, along with a portfolio that demonstrates your technical and conceptual approach.
