About the residency
Casasanvito is an artist residency located in the Marche region of Italy, founded with the aim of providing a focused and supportive environment for contemporary artistic practice. The residency offers time and space for artists to develop new work away from the pressures of urban centers, fostering a community of international and Italian artists. Its ethos is rooted in the belief that meaningful art emerges from sustained attention and exchange, and it prioritizes process over product, encouraging experimentation and critical dialogue.

Artists should approach Casasanvito with a clear sense of what they hope to achieve during the residency, emphasizing process and experimentation rather than finished outcomes. Applications are typically open to artists at various career stages, but a strong proposal will demonstrate how the rural context and community of peers will benefit the work. It is advisable to review past resident projects on the website to understand the residency's tone and expectations. Deadlines are announced annually, and early preparation is recommended.
