Planning your application

Artists should approach Cultivarte with a clear sense of how a tropical retreat would inform their practice. Proposals that demonstrate sensitivity to place, sustainability, and community engagement are likely to resonate. Given the open call format, ensure your application articulates a specific project or line of inquiry that benefits from the retreat's environment. It is advisable to review past retreat documentation, if available, to align with the organization's ethos. Prepare a concise artist statement, work samples, and a feasible project plan that considers the logistical and ecological context of a tropical setting.
