Herrera Gallery

Herrera is a dynamic contemporary art gallery and independent cultural engine based in the Sant Andreu district, located just 15 minutes from Barcelona’s city center. The space is dedicated to the promotion of interdisciplinary practices, serving as a vital link between creative experimentation and the public. They pride themselves on being an inclusive platform that welcomes creators at every stage of their career—from emerging young talent bringing fresh perspectives to senior artists with established practices. The organization is built on the belief that artistic growth happens through the intersection of different generations and backgrounds. By being strategically connected to the heart of the city while maintaining the authentic energy of a local neighborhood, Herrera facilitates a continuous dialogue between diverse artistic languages. They are committed to nurturing a diverse community of makers, ensuring that our gallery remains a space for bold ideas, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and the professional development of artists within the international contemporary scene. Herrera is an artist-run space in Barcelona offering flexible, year-round residencies tailored to each artist's specific needs. Their mission is to provide an accessible and authentic environment for research, production, and meaningful creative exchange between local and international creators. They welcome artists, creators, designers, curators, writers, etc at any stage of their career, from emerging voices to established practitioners. Located in a lively, traditional neighborhood just 15 minutes from Barcelona’s city center, Herrera combines the privacy of a dedicated studio with the energy of a creative hub, fostering transformative artistic processes and genuine connections. They bridge the gap between creation and exhibition, providing a platform where research, production, and public presentation coexist. Artists are encouraged to experiment without the immediate pressure of a commercial output; however, most residencies culminate in a public showcase or an open studio event to share the results with the community.
