About the residency

Rimbun Dahan is an arts residency and cultural centre located in Kuang, Selangor, Malaysia, founded by architect Hijjas Kasturi and his wife Angela in the 1990s. Set within a lush 14-acre garden, the estate provides a contemplative environment for artists, writers, and performers to develop new work. Its mission is to foster cross-cultural exchange and support contemporary artistic practice in Southeast Asia and beyond, offering residencies that prioritize process over product. The organization maintains a permanent call for applications, including a recent focus on non-toxic printmaking in Patagonia, reflecting its commitment to environmentally conscious art-making and international collaboration.
