About the residency
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in partnership with the School of Arts will provide a residency to an international artist or curator to develop their work for a period of three months. The School of Arts of the Catholic University of Portugal is based in Porto and offers graduate and undergraduate courses in Film, Music, Sound, Photography, New Media, Heritage and Conservation. The selected candidate should be able to articulate/integrate the aforementioned research areas in the work to be developed during the residency. The selected artist is expected to engage in the activities of the School of Arts and be available to present their work processes to the students and in a public presentation, to be scheduled. The selected artist must also be available to be interviewed for research and communication purposes. The artist can freely set their working schedule, according to the availability of labs and materials that he might need, but he should be available to meet with the residency supervisors if it is requested in advance.
